Organic Danish eggs are laid by hens who are free to choose to roam outdoors in a hen yard – the whole year round. The hen yard is covered with grass and vegetation, and there are shelter and greenery in form of trees and bushes. Inside the henhouse, at least one-third of the ground is covered with sand, straw, shavings or turf. The henhouse admits natural daylight. In organic production, GMOs may not be used in feed as well as feed have no artificial color nor antibiotics. Only government approved organic feed are given to the hens.
